Chevron Amethyst is a special type of amethyst, which is a purple quartz crystal colored by FE3+ ions (it's a fancy kind of iron) which is then exposed to low levels of background radiation creating it's famous purple color with ribbons of white alternating in chevron or "V" patterns.
The ancient Romans believed that amethyst was the stone of sobriety and prevented drunkenness when put in an alcoholic beverage. I think it was just an excuse to drink more! 😂🤣
