Tabasco Geode

These are the worlds smallest commercially viable geodes called, Tabasco geodes from near the town of Tabasco, Mexico.

These little beauties are formed in volcanic rock and are hard rock mined. They are often lined in water clear quartz but also will have an iridescent botryoidal or bubbly surface and formation.

A once extinct geode, another deposit was found and brought to market in 2018. We don't know how big this deposit is. They form in bubbles occurring in a basalt flow. They have to be chiseled out of the hard basalt host rock.
