About Citrine

Citrine is a golden variety of quartz, colored by iron oxides within the crystal structure. Natural citrine is relatively rare—most citrine on the market today is actually heat-treated amethyst or smoky quartz, giving it that deep amber glow people love.
Natural citrine tends to have a lighter, honeyed hue. Exceptional deep orange examples—like Madeira citrine—come from famous deposits. Washington state even produces natural citrine in geode nodules, often with a subtle smoky tint.
Citrine is also the sister stone to amethyst, and the two can form together in a single crystal, known as Ametrine.
A powerful stone for promoting prosperity, energy, and confidence, citrine is the modern birthstone for November and is beloved as a symbol of abundance.
