How to Join the FREE Explore Lincoln City Beachcombing Explorience Beachcombing Adventure
First Step: Prior to arriving, become a member of the Lincoln City Explorer's Club via your computer or smartphone. This will let us gift you a secret code to win fabulous prizes! Learn more about the Explorers Passport Program and Prizes.
Orientation: Each Explorience kicks off with a comprehensive orientation from Laura Joki, our local expert. The meetup point is at the 33rd Street beach access, just north of the Sandcastle Beachfront Motel. The one with the ramp not stairs. Picnic tables, not sea lion statue.
How to Get There: From Highway 101, turn west onto 32nd or 35th Street, continue and take a left at Anchor Avenue off 32nd or a right at SW Anchor Avenue off 35th . Public parking lots are at 35th and 32nd Street in addition to all of Anchor Avenue between 32nd and 35th with parking at the 33rd st beach access.
What You'll Discover: Hit the beach with Laura as your guide through a sandy paradise! Not only will she help you identify sparkling gemstones, ancient fossils, and captivating shells, but you'll also get hands-on experience with the unique local geology.
Duration: Each Explorience lasts approximately 2 hours. Questions are not only allowed but encouraged!
What to Pack for Your Beachcombing Adventure
- A weather-resistant, warm jacket
- Many people enjoy the company of a well fitting hat (it can get very windy so make sure it fits well or this might be a hat chasing explorience!)
- Sturdy outdoor footwear (Avoid open-topped rubber boots as they can fill with water)
- Gloves for cold-sensitive hands
- A robust bag for your coastal treasures
- >Optional: snacks, beverages, or a well-behaved pup to share the fun!

2. Beware of Beach Logs and Debris: It may look stable, but driftwood and other beach debris can shift unexpectedly. Better safe than sorry!
3. Keep Kiddos and Furry Friends Close: Whether it's your mini-me or your four-legged family member, always keep them close. You never know when rogue or sneaker wave conditions might appear.
