Cantera Opal

"Cantera" or quarry opal is mined in the Magdelina and Queretaro regions in rhyolite quarries where the opal formed in vesicles or bubbles within the cooled lava. 

Cantera opal comes in both common and precious opal with sometimes an internal sheen or fractures can mimic a the color play of fire.
