Despite the name, it’s not actually a jasper, but a rare fibrous carbonate material formed in the fumaroles of an active Indonesian volcano. It contains minerals like sulfur and arsenic, but don’t worry—it’s not bioavailable, meaning the materials don’t absorb through the skin. It’s completely safe to wear and doesn’t require sealing.
