Discover the Ultimate Oregon Coast Beachcombing Adventure with Geology Expert Laura Joki!
Join me for a private Beachcombing Adventure in Lincoln City, Oregon... part geology class, part field trip, part beach treasure hunt, and all unforgettable.
This 2-hour guided field experience goes far beyond simply identifying rocks. You'll learn where Oregon Coast treasures come from, how agates form, how fossils are preserved, how beaches sort and concentrate material, and how to read the clues hidden in the landscape itself.
This is our most in-depth beach experience and is designed for curious visitors who want to understand not only what they're finding... but where it came from, how it formed, and why it's here.
Led by Rock Your World's science educator, geology communicator, and licensed guide Laura Joki, this experience includes an extended introduction to Oregon Coast beach treasures, beach rock identification, agate formation, fossil discovery, and the powerful geological forces that continue shaping the coastline today.

🗓️ More Dates Possible Coming Throughout 2026!
This is our premium beachcombing experience and is only offered when beachcombing and rockhounding conditions have the potential to expose the geological features that make this stretch of coastline so fascinating.
If there are no dates offered for this adventure, it means we are not confident we can deliver the hands-on experience we pride ourselves on.
Please see the Oregon Coast Treasure Hunt with Laura as an alternative when conditions are not ideal for this geology-focused experience.
Traditionally, the best conditions occur during winter and early spring when waves remove sand and expose gravel deposits, fossils, volcanic features, fault structures, and other geological treasures hidden beneath the beach.
Because conditions constantly change, additional dates may become available at any time of year when the ocean decides to cooperate. Please see our blog post about how sand shifts and beaches change for a deeper dive into why beach conditions matter.
We'll be adding more tour dates as beach conditions allow. To be the first to know, follow us on social media and subscribe to our newsletter... you'll get early access, behind-the-scenes updates, and insider-only offers.
