This heart is basically a tiny crystal cave. Warm bands of carnelian frame an open center packed with toothy quartz crystals, giving the whole piece a wild, sugary texture that catches light from every direction. Above it, a small Ethiopian opal flashes against the darkened copper like one last spark tucked into the stonework.
This is a natural carnelian geode slice, where layers of chalcedony formed around an open pocket and quartz crystals grew inward into the remaining space. I wrapped it in antiqued copper and let the wirework grow organically across the top, building curls and spirals around the crystal edge without covering the geology. The Ethiopian opal adds a completely different kind of light, shifting color above the quiet sparkle of the quartz. There is only one.
