Tiny mineral spheres grew together to form the surface of this grape agate, building the soft clustered texture that gives the stone its name. The lavender purple body fades toward a misty green patch where the chemistry shifted during formation. One side keeps a raw crystal edge so the natural growth surface still shows where the chalcedony formed.
Grape agate is a botryoidal chalcedony from Indonesia, formed as silica precipitated in repeating rounded layers that stacked into these grape-like clusters. This piece was cut to preserve both the polished dome and the natural crystal edge so you can see the structure that formed underground. The hammered copper wrap follows the curve of the stone and leaves the texture visible. Only one available
