This little slice is a whole geological story you can wear. Green moss runs through the center of the stone, surrounded by soft layers of white and pale gray agate. Around that, quartz grew outward into a natural crystalline rind. The face was sliced and polished to reveal what was happening inside while the outside edge was left wild.
The “moss” here is microbialite, material formed through the activity of ancient microbial communities. It became part of the stalactite as layers of silica built around it, eventually forming agate and quartz. Those tiny green-centered eyes running through the slice are a cross-section through that growth. It’s basically a tiny fossil-ish record of water, minerals, and life working together over time.
