Layer after layer of agate built this stone slowly, leaving ribbons of cream, rust, and pale earth tones winding through the surface. In the center the mineral story opens up. A natural cavity reveals tiny quartz crystals that formed after the agate bands sealed around the space.
Crazy lace agate forms when silica rich fluids repeatedly fill and seal cavities, creating the tight swirling band patterns seen here. This piece preserves a small geode pocket where quartz crystals continued to grow inward, leaving a druzy lined window inside the stone. The cabochon was cut to keep that natural opening intact and wrapped in hammered copper that follows the curve of the agate. Only one available.
