This heart reads pale and quiet at first glance. The opal itself is semi translucent white, but the embedded metallic marcasite throws a cool blue cast across the surface, shifting with the light. Dark iron sprays cut through the softness like frozen movement.
The opal formed as silica gel and later hosted iron sulfide that crystallized as marcasite within the stone, not on it. The heart shape was cut to preserve the strongest contrast between white opal and metallic structure, then polished just enough to let light pass through. Only one available.
