Carved from soft blue-green amazonite with natural cream, tan and earthy mineral patches, this crescent has two glossy black bead eyes and the smallest carved smile. The stoneās natural imperfections make the expression even better... less celestial perfection, more tiny moon creature who has seen some things.
Amazonite is a potassium feldspar, typically microcline, whose blue-green color is associated with trace lead and structural effects within the mineral. This piece keeps plenty of the stoneās natural variation visible, including pale matrix and small earthy inclusions rather than polishing all of its geological personality away.
