This antique skeleton key carries a diamond-shaped Aurora Opal that shifts from fiery red and glowing orange into electric violet and deep indigo. Wrapped in curling copper vines, it's a little piece of mystery with a spectacular flash of color. And tucked into the key's original metalwork is a tiny detail worth noticing: the number 1 stamped into its bit.
The centerpiece is a manmade Aurora Opal topped with a faceted optical quartz cap, creating layers of color and depth as the light moves across it. I wrapped the antique key by hand in recycled copper, shaping each spiral around the original metal. The copper has been antiqued and burnished to bring out the texture of the wirework while preserving the key's aged character. This particular key, its stamped number, and its fiery gemstone make a combination that cannot be duplicated exactly. Only one available.
