There's something about this shade of blue that makes you want to look twice. Soft, luminous, and almost impossibly serene, this polished blue opal carries delicate wisps of color beneath its surface. I gave it a setting with plenty of movement, sweeping sterling silver curves that rise above the stone, curl into spirals, and frame the blue without hiding it.
This isn't a simple wire wrap. The asymmetrical design uses flowing lines, open spaces, and carefully placed spirals to create a sculptural setting around the teardrop stone. I antiqued the sterling silver to bring out the depth of the wirework, then polished the raised surfaces to catch the light. The result is a substantial, nearly two-inch pendant that still feels graceful and airy. Only one available.
