This one is pure geology doodling. Fine ribbons of peach, cream, white and soft gray fold back on themselves across the heart, with tight little loops, scallops and wandering bands. The warm palette gives it a softer look than the classic high-contrast reds and yellows often associated with Crazy Lace Agate, but the pattern is unmistakably busy.
Crazy Lace Agate is a banded chalcedony known for intricate, contorted patterns created through repeated generations of silica deposition. This piece has especially fine fortification-style banding, with areas where the lace tightens into tiny nested layers and others where it opens into broader creamy ribbons.
