Soft bands of purple chalcedony move through this stone like mist settling into water. One edge breaks open to reveal tiny quartz crystals, a pocket where the mineral kept growing instead of sealing shut. Smooth agate and raw crystal meet in the same piece, showing two stages of the same silica story.
Agate forms when silica rich fluids slowly layer inside cavities, building the banded chalcedony structure seen here. In one section the cavity stayed open long enough for quartz crystals to grow inward, leaving a natural druzy edge. This cabochon keeps that raw crystal face intact and is wrapped in hammered copper that follows the curve of the stone. Only one available.
